Born and raised in Geelong, Victoria. Lauren Board is a photo documentarian and storyteller.
Having been taking photos since 2015, Lauren has evolved her work into reflections of culture and society. Her first project began delving into her Italian family to reconnect with her grandparents better. This led to ‘la Campagna’, a self-exploration into the cultural disconnectedness that comes with migration.
From here Lauren has developed her work to focus on political issues and stories of identity, with a particular focus on stories from First Nation people and the treatment of asylum seekers and refugees in Australia.
Lauren has a Bachelor’s degree in Photography and International Relations with distinctions and has recently completed a Master's in Humanitarian Assistance.
